Even though I have always thought that our home was just about perfect, I knew that there was something missing. You see, we didn’t have a garage and I was a little frustrated with that fact. There was nothing more annoying than having to scrape the windows on my car every winter and I really wanted to do something about that. But the truth of the matter was that we just never had the money available to improve the house, so it was something that we had to put on the back burner.
But after the horrible hail storm last summer damaged our vehicles, I knew it was time that we did something about it. I knew that building a garage was still out of our budget, so we looked into how much steel carports would be instead. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that we could afford one for our property and we put the order in right away. It only took a few weeks and the carport was attached to our home.
Based on how much I love our carport I really wonder why we didn’t get one sooner. I love the fact that our car is safe from hail, stays dry when it rains and that I never have to brush the snow off the car in the winter. Not only has it made my life easier, but I think it will help reduce the wear and tear on the car as well, so maybe it will last a bit longer.
In the future, if I do move, I think that I will look for a home with a carport. It has been so useful up to this point that I can’t imagine not having one. They should make them a standard accessory included with every house you buy.
